After graduating from university in 2006, I had the honor of hosting Heinz, my first international guest, and his family at a lakeside restaurant near West Lake. The moment we walked in, I was struck not just by the beauty of the place, but by the atmosphere — the soft, warm glow of the lighting created a sense of peace and connection. That evening, over dinner, I spoke with Heinz, who had traveled all the way from Switzerland. Despite the language barrier and cultural differences, our conversation was filled with laughter, curiosity, and mutual respect. Years later, in 2018, I returned the gesture by bringing my family to visit Heinz in Switzerland. What I expected was a polite reunion — what I experienced was a celebration of friendship. They welcomed us as if we were long-lost family.
